BAKERSFIELD CHRISTMAS PARADE...
When: Tonight, 6 PM

Where: There's a new route this year. It begins at 22nd and L streets, goes to 21st Street, turns left on G Street, then left on 20th Street, and stays on 20th Street until it ends at Downtown Elementary School.

Details: This year's theme is "Christmas Around the World." The parade features 38 floats, and for the second year, a couple will tie the knot on a float. We're entry #21...

If you can't make it, the parade will air live on KGET TV 17!

HE'S ASKING FOR WHAT?
This is VERY important: If your eight-year-old son tells you he wants an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas this year... PLEASE don't just dismiss it.

According to Robert Thompson at Syracuse University... who's one of THE top pop culture experts in the U.S.... more and more boys are asking for cooking toys this year... and that's a GOOD thing.

He says it's because the Food Network and other cooking shows have, quote, "de-feminized the kitchen." Between "Iron Chef", "Emeril Live", "Hell's Kitchen", "Top Chef" and others, more boys think cooking is cool... and not only for women.

SENT YOURS YET?
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, Americans will send approximately TWO BILLION greeting cards. That's about 28.6% of the seven billion greeting cards sent in the U.S. every year.

More greeting cards are sold for Christmas than any other holiday... Valentine's Day is second, then Mother's Day, Easter and Father's Day. Women buy 80% of all greeting cards.
