AMERICAN IDOL NOTES...
Well, well, well... the episode may have been rushed, but we got the point... Lots of cuts, even of potential favorites...

OUT:
The navy officer who won his ship's Idol competition
The army reservist whose husband is serving in Iraq
The girl who lied to her parents to try out for Idol
The Cuban girl who channeled Shakira
The Fidel Castro look-alike (more on this below)

Bailey, this year's small town girl with big dreams...
Matt, the 16-year old whose mother didn't believe in him...
Amanda, one of the two "best friends from Jersey" who auditioned together...
Robyn, the winner of the Grammy contest who sang with Justin Timberlake
Shyamali, the sister half of the Indian brother-sister combo...

IN:
Two of my three favorites... Sundance Head and Sanjaya Malakar (no word about Jimmy, my third fave)

Also in... Gina Glocksen and Matt the Cowboy (two returnees from last season), Chris Sligh (the Jack Osbourne look alike), and Paul Kim (who hopes to be the first famous Asian American singer not named William Hung).

But is there controversy already brewing behind the scenes... According to Idol blogger MJ...

Rumor has it that a couple of contestants may have been disqualified. Tommy Daniels, who was revealed by TMZ to have a record, was supposedly disqualified for releasing information to the media. According to the spoilers, another potential Top 40/24 contestant may have been disqualified and/or quit. And, there is a pervasive rumor around the net that Sean Michel was eliminated because he refused to cut his hair.

Dave McGurgan from Phillyburbs.com says that “an Idol insider high up in the food chain, who goes by the name AJ, contacted phillyBurbs.com last week, claiming that the next American Idol has already been chosen: Brandon Rogers.” Hmmm. How suspicious will it look if he wins?

BOSSES... LISTEN UP!
New research shows that taking a nap at work may just keep you ALIVE.

Researchers at Harvard University and the University of Athens, in Greece, studied more than 23,000 adults for six years. They found that people who napped for a half hour at least three times a week had a 37% lower risk of dying from a heart attack.

Dr. Dimitrios Trichopoulos, who led the study, says, quote, "My advice is: If you can nap, do it. If you have a sofa in your office, if you can relax, do it."

SEND FLOWERS THE RIGHT WAY!
Okay, guys, if she works in a big office with a lot of people -- it's best to send flowers -- or baked goods -- or whatever -- to her place of work. And there's only one reason to do this -- so she can show it off to her co-workers. The last thing you want is for her to come home that night all upset because her girlfriends were squealing about their office Valentine's Day surprises, while she got a big 'ol heap of nothing. Never did her desk look so bare -- and it'll be ALL YOUR FAULT.
