FEBRUARY 13, 2007

This morning, it was all about last minute help for Valentine's Day...

COULD THIS BE THE BEST VALENTINE'S GIFT EVER?
One of the Internet's best undiscovered jewels is InstaSong. . . a site where you answer a few questions, then instantly get a customized song, in mp3 form, for Valentine's Day (--or other holidays). It runs $5, and it's kinda cheesy. . . but totally addictive.

HAVEN'T BOUGHT A CARD YET?
Shocking as it may sound, 1 out of 3 people Cingular Wireless surveyed said they would be "texting" a love message this year, rather than buying a Valentine's Day card...

But it doesn't stop there...
*28% of people have used text messaging to avoid long conversations
*17% have reported that a wireless phone saved them from an uncomfortable date
*12% have used their cell phone as a conversation starter on a date
*8% have ended a relationship because the person had bad cell phone etiquette
*5% have texted someone else they were romantically interested in while on a date with someone else
*6% have judged a prospective date by the cell phone they use

VALENTINE'S FACTS AND FIGURES...
The average male spends $156 on Valentine's Day... the average female spends $85.

79% of people would rather stay in on Valentine's and watch a good DVD than go out on a date to somewhere that's boring or too crowded.

But, 81% of people would rather be taken out to a romantic Valentine's Day dinner than get a gift certificate that costs the same amount as that dinner.

78% say red roses are SWEET, and not cliché at all.

67% of women would rather get a magnificent bouquet of flowers at home than a so-so bouquet delivered to them at work.

87% of men and women say they'd rather get a one-hour massage from the person they're with than a gift certificate for a one hour professional massage.

Waiting to hear or say "I love you"? Wednesday may not be the day it goes down. Only 19% of people say they've picked Valentine's Day to say "I love you" to someone for the first time.

43% of people say the worst Valentine's Day gift is. . . NOTHING.

In the U.S., people will spend $16.9 BILLION on Valentine's Day gifts this year. More than half of men plan on buying flowers.

BUT WHAT DON'T THEY WANT?
Here's what women said they DIDN'T want for Valentine's Day!

1) Teddy Bears- 45%
2) Chocolate- 22% (It takes them off their diet)
3) Jewelry- 14% (Some found it too expensive)
4) Flowers- 13%
5) Don't know- 6% (Yeah, that's what makes being a guy so hard!)

LOOKING FOR A NEW SCENT?
We all have a signature scent, but sometimes a change is fun! Here are four new fragrances that smell as good as the bottle looks... (Guys, pay attention for V-Day ideas, perhaps...)

Banana Republic Jade: A clean floral scent spiked with pomegranate. Bonus -- It's pretty wooden box is reusable.

Guerlain Insolence: A very sexy (but sweet smelling) combo of violet, red berries and rose.

Escada Into the Blue: A blend of blue lotus flower and peony, with a twist of watermelon.

Ralph Lauren Pure Turquoise: A mix of lily of the valley, patchouli, and vanilla bourbon.

NEED TO WORK ON SOMETHING IMPORTANT TODAY?
We're not sure how you can use this info. . . but, apparently, you're at your creative peak at 10:30 A.M. Cornwall Enterprise, a British company, studied office workers, and found that the middle of the morning is when people's minds are firing the best. Now you know.
