AMERICAN IDOL NOTES
We have a winner... David Cook! I think he deserved it. He really was the most original and best performer of the season. I'm just happy one of my picks to be in the finals made it there.
I thought the finale was pretty good...
Loved... Jimmy Kimmel, the duet of Carly Smithson and Michael Johns, Carrie Underwood's performance, and the Gladys Knight and the Pips song with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr.
Hated... Simon's apology at the end (stick to what you said!), the Mike Myers bit, and the Ronaldo bad audition recap.

CALLING FOR A BOYCOTT!
Just when it seemed like the major airlines couldn't possibly come up with a new way to make your flying experience even MORE miserable... they have.
Yesterday, American Airlines announced they're going to start charging passengers $15 for EACH piece of luggage they check. That means even if you only check ONE bag... you'll still get hit with the new fee.
According to a spokesman for American Airlines, the airline industry isn't, quote, "built to withstand oil prices at $125 a barrel, [especially] with a weak U.S. economy."
(Right, these multinational, billion-dollar corporations aren't built to deal with high gas prices... but YOU can swing it.)
So far, no other airlines have announced plans to charge passengers for checking luggage... but United Airlines is supposedly, quote, "seriously studying" American's new business plan.
The new policy goes into effect next month.
