FEBRUARY 29, 2008-- LEAP DAY!

AMERICAN IDOL NOTES
I so should have gone 4-for-4 last night on my predictions... At one point, all four people I predicted were on the verge of elimination... I was right on Alexandrea and Jason... and just missed Robbie and Alaina. Alaina was a bit of a surprise, but Robbie perhaps was slightly less shocking...

One other note last night, in two weeks... new opening graphics, a new set, and the "exit" song will be a new song from Ruben Studdard... a cover of Kenny Loggins' "Celebrate Me Home"!

The guys and girls do 80s hits next week and the Top 12 is announced!

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES
We had Kristin's daughter Hannah in this morning... Her troop will be selling Girl Scout Cookies at Lowe's on Rosedale Highway today from 3-7 PM... Cookies are $4 a box! Help out! They're trying to get enough money for a sleepover at an aquarium!

KNOW YOUR SHOW
Congratulations Kathy Baird... winner of our first pair of Elton John tickets today! She successfully answered all three questions in Know Your Show... Would you have won?

1) What seasonal beverage has Brent been raving about all week?
Shamrock Shakes

2) Which new restaurant did Brent try this week and really enjoyed?
Red Brick Pizza

3) Which college did we tell you about that would give free tuition to students whose parents make less than $100,000 per year?
Stanford

TAKE THE DAY OFF!
Every four years, an extra day is tacked onto the end of February. This you know.

But while most people accept leap year for what it is, some people can't help but see today... February 29th... as just an extra work day that is forced upon us... a day where we have to go work, even though we're not getting paid extra.

That's why James Cox of London is encouraging people to take today off and do something worthwhile... like charity work or something for the environment.

James has even started a website for the cause, and a Facebook group... which has 4,600 members so far... to get the word out.
